Nursery Admissions
Children are admitted into the nursery in the September following their 3rd birthday, the application form can be downloaded below. Once completed, this should be sent directly/handed into the school office.
School Admissions
All school admissions are co-ordinated by Trafford Borough Council. Parents and Guardians need to apply direct to Trafford for a place in Reception through to Year 6.
Children are admitted to the reception year in the September following their 4th birthday. Informal visits to have a look around school before decisions are made are encouraged.
Your child will be offered the chance to visit the class he or she will be joining before starting in September. We have a ‘Moving Up’ day in July each year when all children spend a morning in the classes they will join in September.
Children can be admitted to any class during the school year if there is a vacancy.
FAQ for parents of children starting Reception
School Visits
We aim to hold School Open Mornings each academic year to enable prospective parents/carers to view our school and ask any questions they may have. These events are advertised ahead of time and all are welcome to attend, with no prior booking needed. In addition, each term, we hold a couple of group tours of our school, which parents/carers are welcome to book onto by emailing admin@bps.trafford.sch.uk with their preferred date and time. Below are the dates of upcoming available visits:
Friday 7th February 2025 – 1.30pm
Friday 14th February 2025 – 9.15am
Reception Open Evening Event – Thursday 27th February 2025 – 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Wednesday 12th March 2025 – 9.30am
Thursday 27th March 2025 – 1.30pm
Moving on – Transfer procedures
TO ANOTHER PRIMARY SCHOOL
If you wish your child to transfer to another primary school, you are requested to inform us as soon as possible. The beginning of a school year is the best time for a transfer, but we realise that this is not always possible. Please ensure that we are informed of the name and address of the new school and any change of home address where appropriate.
TO SECONDARY SCHOOL
We have well-established links with the secondary schools in the area to which our pupils normally transfer. Decisions about secondary schooling are obviously a matter of parental choice. Parents are welcome to discuss this with our Assistant Headteacher, Mr Bird at any stage.
