Dear Parents / Carers,

It’s the end of the academic year already! Where has the time gone?!

This year has been a mammoth year for Broadheath Primary School. We have achieved so very much and it really has been a great team effort. Thanks to staff, governors, parents and children for their support and adaptability. The new building is amazing and makes the challenges faced all the more sweet. Broadheath Primary School is certainly moving forward.

Progress

The children across the school, from Nursery to Y6, have continued to make super progress in learning this year. Hard work both in school and at home is paying off and the children are all developing a great attitude to learning and a growth mindset. Our Year 6 cohort have made outstanding progress and have achieved excellent SATs results which puts them in an excellent position as they move on to High Schools and Grammar Schools in the area. Thanks to parents and staff for your continued support and hard work; supporting school work at home really pays off and makes a real difference to your child’s outcomes.

Attendance

Well done to those children (and staff) who achieved 100% attendance this year. Class 4WH had the best attendance in school and all of the children received a certificate. Our school attendance rate was 94.9% this year and we need to improve on this. Our target for next year is 96% attendance. Please help us to achieve this figure and ensure that holidays are only taken out of term time. Please phone school before 09:00hrs if your child is unwell or unable to attend school for any reason.

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club continues to provide great care for the children each morning. Please note that there will be a slight price increase to £2.50 to ensure that we cover costs from September. Continuing to offer a very reasonable provision.

PTFA Events

Thanks to the PTFA for their continued support and contribution this term. They have held some super events and the children across the whole of the school benefit from their fundraising and from the wonderful experiences they support. Special thanks to the PTFA Committee who should probably bring their beds into school as they provide endless support for us. It is very much appreciated.

School Dinners/Electronic ordering system

For those who pay, all school dinners will be charged at £2.20 from September. In October we are planning to introduce a new ordering system so that children and parents can select their meals in advance. This means that all children will eat their preferred meal and waste will be reduced – a win:win situation!

Our Challenge Champions

The following children have been sent to me this half term because they have made a super effort with their work:

Max Burgess, Minoj G, Jack K, Mylie-Beau B, Matilda N, Abigail M-H, Leo P, Aleah R, Isobel E_R, Sophie S, Hollie M, Keiran C-B, Eshal A, Kai M, Amelia W, Grace P, McKenzie W, Chanelle R, aidan A, Maher A, Saarika A, Shiza J, Sonny C, Honey W, Lily W, Scarlett T.

Well done to all of these children who have listened to our school motto of;  Believe – Practise – Succeed!

A very fond farewell to all of our Year 6 pupils and their parents who leave us today. The children have had an outstanding year and filled us with pride on many occasions. These are a great group of children and I look forward to hearing about all of their successes in the future as they leave us as thoughtful, talented and hardworking members of our  community.

Best wishes to all of our families. Thank you for your continued support. Have a restful and fun-filled summer break. I look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 4th September.

Uniform orders will be available from school for collection on Friday, 31st August between 10 and 12 noon and on Saturday 1st September between 10 and 12 noon.

Yours sincerely
