Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of the school year – time flies when you’re having fun (and when you are working REALLY hard!) Our final half term has been action packed with many opportunities to enrich experiences for our pupils – a few of these are detailed below:

Summer Bounce

Many thanks to our fabulous PTFA, particularly Amy, Lisa, Kate and Debbie, these are the ladies who really do make things happen! Once again, the summer bounce was a great success this year. Thank you to all helpers and to those who came to enjoy the event.

Assemblies

This half term we have been treated to a number of exciting assemblies. Classes 1F and 5/6 B have entertained us with work they have completed this term. Kooth.com (a charity for 11-17 year olds) came into school to talk to our Y6 pupils about mental health. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys entertained Y3 and 4 children and parents with a talk from the Headteacher and a couple of our ‘old boys’. They brought their Swing Band along who were just amazing! We were all privileged to be part of a special assembly to host the Bishop of Lahore, Bishop Irfan. Bishop Irfan was a warm and generous man who took time to visit our wonderful school. He was most impressed by our respectful and enthusiastic pupils.

Performances

KS2 pupils watched a super performance reminding them about online safety, ‘The Net’. We all felt very happy from the inside out when Y1 pupils performed their Little Voices concert. Talented musicians and our vibrant School choir provided outstanding performances during our ‘Music for a Summer Evening’ event. Broadheath’s Got Talent – KS2 was a real showcase of the weird and wonderful delights that our children have to offer, for example rapping, dancing, contortionists (!), comedians and much more! Finally, our very own Y6 pupils absolutely wowed us with their spectacular performance of Aladdin.

Multi-cultural Market Day

Thanks to some amazingly generous parents we were all immersed in a variety of cultures on the Multi-cultural Market Day. We were able to take part in new experiences, for example, Indian stick dancing, Chinese calligraphy and much, much more! We all took a great deal from the day. Many thanks to all those involved – it would be great to do it again next year!

SATs

All pupils have worked incredibly hard this year and this effort is reflected in the progress they have made. Hats off to another set of outstanding results achieved by Y6!

Parent Questionnaire

Thank you for the large number of parents who took the time to complete and return our school questionnaire this term. All contributions are valued and we will be studying them in detail over the holiday. We use your responses to continually improve our practice and provision.

Penguin Pre-School

Many thanks to the charity committee for donating £500 to our Early Years Department. New climbing equipment has already been designed and should be in place in our Nursery class in September.

Personal achievements

Shout out to Oliver in Y5 for winning 1st prize in Broadheath’s got Talent. Very well done to Ava in Y5 who took part in the recent World Open Skating Competition – go Ava! And congratulations to Bhuvan V in Y6 who represented SSK England at the 2019 WUKF World Karate Championships in Slovakia.
