Dear Parents and Carers,

Can you believe it? The Summer holidays are upon us once again!

This year has been incredibly eventful and the school is transforming into a vibrant, forward thinking and forward looking place which is filled, as always, with our hardworking staff and children. The children have worked very hard this year and have had to be flexible and adaptable as the building has changed around us. Of course the children have not been phased by this and I continue to be very proud of them all.

Below is listed a few items which I hope will be of interest to you as we reach the end of the school year.

New Build Update

An enormous amount of work is planned for over the next six weeks which will bring enhancement to the new and existing buildings. Plans are in place to develop a dance studio and knock through a couple of openings to create enlarged dining and hall space. The food technology room is due to be completed and the new classroom next to the hall should be ready to receive a class of children on Tuesday 5th September!

The whole school will be rewired to update all of our electrics and a brand spanking new boiler will run a more economic and efficient heating system.

As all of this is happening, the new build will also take shape as the framework is completed and the walls hopefully begin to rise.

Exciting times ahead for all of our community!

School Crossing

Please ensure that you always cross over Sinderland Road with Adrian, our lovely lolly-pop man. Adrian is there every morning and evening to assist you and keep you safe. Please ensure that you cross safely with his assistance.

Old uniform Request

We are delighted to work with Ugandaid and the Salvation Army to ensure that our old uniforms go to great use! Altrincham Baptist Church who founded Ugandaid is taking a number of our uniforms to a very deprived area of Uganda for children who live in great poverty. The Salvation Army is taking the remainder of our uniforms and will sell these overseas, giving us an amount of money depending on the weight of clothes we receive. A huge thank you to all parents who have washed and sent in the old uniform to us for these great causes, reducing landfill at the same time!

Miss Armitage – we will say a fond farewell to Miss Armitage on Tuesday as she travels back to be closer to family and friends in Northumbria.

Mrs Ward – Many thanks to Mrs Ward who has worked in 2T and 3H over the last two years. I am sure she will be back to support our classes in the future.

Both teachers will be missed and we wish them all the very best for the future.

In September we will welcome back Mrs Jenkins to 2T from maternity leave. We also welcome Miss Daniel and Miss Wild to Year 1 and Miss Coe to Year 5. I am confident that they will be very happy as part of our team.

Final Word

Best wishes to all for a happy and healthy summer break and thank you for your continued support – it is very much appreciated by myself and all of the staff team. I hope you have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the break with your families and that the children will be refreshed and raring to achieve and be the best that they can be in the new school year. I look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday 5th September.

Have a wonderful summer holiday.

Yours sincerely
